forget both in the Adirondacks and on the Delaware River.
(Jim Zullo also happens to be the famous Shenendahowa
Hall of Fame basket ball coach!) Jim is supplying all
of the gear needed. We will be supplying the breakfast
and lunch, plus the cottage of your choice. There are
limited cottages available, so please get in contact with
us as soon as possible if this great opportunity interests
you. The cost for single occupancy, lessons, gear, breakfast
and lunch will be $225.00 per day. A second person in
a cottage (because, after all, as Jim Zullo says, “some
of the best people fly fishing, and the easiest to teach,
are women”), will be an extra $50.00 per day per person.

So please give us a call soon to book your cottage at

AUGUST 2010
Sunday 1 August at 3 pm visitors are invited to
come to St. Hubert’s Isle by canoe, guide boat and rowboat
as they did more than a century ago. The occasion is the
130th anniversary of the summer chapel. There will be
FREE water taxi service from the Raquette Lake Village
Dock beginning at 2 pm (courtesy of Burke's Marina). The
Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd was built by William
West Durant in 1880 on St. Hubert's Isle, Raquette Lake,
NY. In addition to St. William's (1890) across the bay
on Long Point, Good Shepherd was built to serve the owners,
guests and employees of the Great Camps - Sagamore, Pine
Knot, Uncas and Kill Kare, all constructed by Durant.
The first treasurer of the summer chapel was John Boyd
Thacher, future mayor of Albany (1886-88, 1896-97). The
warden was William West Durant. In 1959 the Rev. Ralph
M. Carmichael, revived the annual service which had been
discontinued during WWII. The preacher will be the Rev.
Nancy Rosenblum from Albany. After the service refreshments
will be served on the rectory porch. All are welcome.
